Gate Automation
A gate isn't finished until it opens on command.
An automated gate is a machine that runs outdoors, in weather, several thousand times a year. We specify it, wire it, program it, and keep it running — rather than selling you a box and wishing you luck.
What we install
We work in FAAC and LiftMaster systems. FAAC where the job calls for hydraulic or underground operators on a heavy estate gate; LiftMaster where a well-supported, widely-serviced system makes more sense. Standardising on two lines means parts are available and any technician we send has seen your equipment before.
- Swing and slide operators — wired or solar, sized to the gate's weight and duty cycle
- Keypads, remotes, and intercoms — including video entry
- Smartphone access — open, monitor, and grant access remotely
- Safety systems — photo eyes and edge sensors, wired to code
- Loop detectors and exit sensors — so the gate opens as you drive up
- Battery backup — the gate still works when the power doesn't
New gate, or the one you already have
Automation is designed into every gate we build from the start. But you don't need a new gate to get an automated one.
If you already have a gate — ours or anyone's — we can usually automate it. Mounting an operator and wiring access control is a mechanical and electrical job we can stand behind regardless of who welded the gate, provided the gate is structurally sound and hangs true. That's what the site visit determines.
Worth being clear on the distinction: we automate and service gates we didn't build, but we don't install gates we didn't build. Hanging a gate makes us responsible for its construction, and we won't warrant welds we didn't lay.

Common questions
Can you automate a gate you didn't build?
Usually, yes. We assess the gate's weight, condition, and how true it hangs on a site visit. A sagging or under-built gate can be automated, but the operator will fight it and fail early — we'll tell you that before taking the job rather than after.
Do you service operators you didn't install?
Yes, any brand. Give us the make and model and we'll assess repair versus replacement. Most failures we see are power, safety sensors, or a worn gear set rather than the whole unit.
Solar or wired?
Depends on location, gate weight, and cycles per day. Solar is genuinely good for a remote gate that opens a few times daily; it struggles with a heavy gate on a busy drive in a shaded hollow. We'll recommend after the site visit.
What happens in a power cut?
Every operator we install has a manual release, so you're never shut in or out. Battery backup is available and worth it on a primary entrance.
How much does automation cost?
It varies more than the gate does — a straightforward single-swing retrofit with an existing power run is a different job from a dual-swing estate entrance with buried conduit, loop detectors, and video entry. The site visit is what makes the number real.
